The United States Dominates Finland 6-1 to Reach the Gold Medal Game
The United States are playing great hockey right now. Scoring five goals in six minutes and six in the first period, the US defeated the Fins 6-1 to reach the Gold Medal Game. Throughout the Olympics, the Americans have made great use of the power play converting on 70% of their opportunities, an Olympic best. That did not change this game, going two for two on power play opportunities. Patrick Kane led the US with two goals while Brian Rafalski led the US with two assists. Great goaltending also helped, Ryan Miller saved all 18 shots on goal and Tim Thomas saved six of the seven shots he faced. The American will collide with the winner of the Slovakia/Canada winner on Sunday.
